ERAMET RESEARCH, A JOINT RESEARCH CENTRE IN TRAPPES (FRANCE)

ERAMET Research, which has been a wholly owned subsidiary of ERAMET since 2003, has about 80 researchers, engineers and technicians and is located near Paris.

There is a broad range of expertise and material resources at the ERAMET Research in the fields of mining extraction, mineral processing, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy and the processing of non-ferrous metals, as well as steels and special steels.

Because it is located on the same site as ERAMET’s engineering subsidiary (ERAMET Ingénierie) ERAMET Research is a scientific, technological and technical hub, able to carry out industrial projects from the planning stage until they are effectively put into action

COMPLEMENTARY STAFF AND RESOURCES ON SOME PRODUCTION SITES

There are research centres dedicated to specific needs located on some production sites, mainly for superalloys (les Ancizes), surface treatment, powder metallurgy (Sweden), closed die forged parts (Pamiers), prealloyed powders (Grenoble), etc.

These represent about 90 extra people in total.

Substantial budgets, amounting to about 1% of turnover for the Nickel and Manganese Divisions and 2% of turnover for the Alloys Division.

A total budget of about EUR 37 million in 2007.
