The Alloys division comprises the activities of the companies Aubert & Duval and Erasteel.

In 2008, it generated turnover of € 1 102 million and employed 5,082 people.

Aubert & Duval is the world’s second-largest producer of parts made using high-pressure closed-die forging, for the aeronautics and gas turbine sectors. These parts may be based on high-performance steels, titanium, aluminium or superalloys.


Aubert & Duval has a closed-die forging press (65,000 t) at Issoire and a new 40,000 t high-power closed-die forging press at Pamiers (near Toulouse).

Aubert & Duval also produces a wide range of tool steels, high-performance steels and superalloys, and sells them in the form of long products, forged blocks and unit forged parts.

Aubert & Duval focuses on specialty products with a high technical component.

The 7 industrial sites of Aubert & Duval are located in France, and there is also 1 distribution and heat treatment of tool steels in China.

In february 2008 Aubert & Duval announced strategic partnership in titanium (UKAD).

Erasteel is the world’s leading producer of high-speed steels, used mainly in the production of cutting tools. Erasteel has established strong positions on high added-value products, particularly high-speed steels made using powder metallurgy, with its ASP® range.

The industrial sites of Erasteel are located in France, Sweden, United Kingdom, United States and in China.

The Alloys division is in a dynamic of strong growth, supported by customer-focussed R&D, by the geographical extension of its sales and distribution network (Asia, Latin America, etc.) and by a sustained programme of investment.
